Handmade Polymer Clay Buttons and Cross Stitch Patterns
Welcome to the creative world of Manucréa.
Since 2009, I have been designing and handcrafting decorative polymer clay buttons in my workshop in Romans-sur-Isère, in the Drôme region of France.
Bringing together two complementary creative worlds—handmade decorative buttons and cross stitch patterns—Manucréa inspires sewing, knitting, embroidery and craft enthusiasts with original creations designed to personalise every project.
Two Complementary Creative Worlds
My handmade buttons and cross stitch designs are born from the same inspiration. Themes, colours and seasonal collections are developed together so that buttons and embroidery patterns can be combined to create coordinated and personalised projects.
With more than 1,400 handmade button designs created over the past fifteen years, every button is imagined, modelled, drilled and finished entirely by hand in my workshop.
Throughout the year I also create original counted cross stitch patterns , ranging from traditional samplers to more contemporary designs suitable for both beginners and experienced stitchers.
New Handmade Buttons
Browse my collection of handmade polymer clay buttons inspired by nature, holidays, sewing, gardening, childhood, animals and many other colourful themes.
Each button is individually handcrafted to add a distinctive finishing touch to garments, knitting projects, bags, accessories and textile creations.
Most of my polymer clay creations are made using the cane technique, allowing intricate patterns to run through the entire piece before being individually shaped, assembled and finished by hand.
This process makes every creation unique while ensuring excellent consistency and durability.

Polymer Clay: Endless Creative Possibilities
Soft before baking yet lightweight and durable once cured, polymer clay allows me to create highly detailed decorative buttons filled with colour and character.
It has been the heart of my workshop since 2009 and is used for every handmade button and decorative accessory available at Manucréa.
Using the polymer clay cane technique, each original design is reproduced throughout the cane before being sliced into identical patterns that become buttons, decorative pins and stitch markers.
This technique creates intricate details that cannot be achieved with industrially manufactured buttons.
